Perfect Waffles and Homemade Syrup

Ingredients

  • 3 cups Whole Wheat Flour
  • 2 Tablespoons Baking Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3 Cups Milk
  • 6 Tablespoons butter melted
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla

Homemade Maple Syrup

  • 1 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 1 cup Brown Sugar
  • 2 cups Water
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla flavoring
  • 1 teaspoon Mapleine flavoring

Instructions

  • Whisk together all dry ingredients in a large mixing bowl. Make a well in the center.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk togethether all wet ingredients. Pour into the well and stir the mixture just until combined. There will be some small clumps.
  • Pour about 1/4 to 1/2 cup batter onto the waffle iron. Cook 3-5 minutes.
  • Serve with hot maple syrup.

Homemade Maple Syrup

  • Stir together sugars and water in a medium saucepan. Bring to a boil.
  • Boil for 2 minutes and remove from heat. Stir in vanilla and mapleine flavoring and vanilla and serve warm.
