Hearty Green Bean Casserole
What is Thanksgiving dinner without Green Bean Casserole? I use frozen green beans instead of canned and my homemade cream of chicken soup recipe for the sauce. It tastes way better than throwing a can of chicken soup on top of canned beans. Enjoy!

Ingredients
Homemade Cream of Chicken Soup
- 1/4 cup onion minced
- 2 Tablespoons butter
- 1/3 cup flour
- 1 1/4 cup milk 2% milkfat
- 1 1/2 teaspoon “Better than Bouillon” chicken base
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
Green Beans
- 6 Cups Frozen Green Beans
- 1 Cup French Fried Onions
Instructions
Homemade Cream of Chicken Soup
- Sauté onions in butter in a medium saucepan until onions are soft and translucent.
- Mix in the flour to form a paste.
- Pour in half of the milk and whisk continually until well-combined with a wire whisk.
- Add the rest of the milk and the bouillon and continue whisking until mixture thickens and begins to bubble.
- Remove from heat. Season with salt and pepper.
Green Beans
- Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 9 inch square pan and place thawed green beans inside. Mix in the cream of chicken soup until the beans are fully coated.
- Bake for about 25 minutes. Top with french fried onions before baking it another 5 minutes.
